PHILLGOOD announces the second headliner of its second edition: The Chemical Brothers. The British duo, whose concerts rank among the most powerful audiovisual shows in the world, return to Bulgaria to close the second festival night on 17 July 2027 at the Rowing Canal in Plovdiv. In a single weekend, from 16 to 18 July, one stage will host both Robbie Williams and the undisputed pioneers of electronic music.
“We want PHILLGOOD to bring the scale of the big European festivals to Plovdiv. We saw it with the first edition, and now, with Robbie Williams and The Chemical Brothers on one stage in one weekend, we are showing how far we can go together with the audience that believed in us before we had announced a single name. And the 2027 line-up is only just taking shape,” says Stefan Elenkov, CEO of Fest Team.
The Chemical Brothers are a rare phenomenon in electronic music. Formed by Ed Simons and Tom Rowlands in Manchester in the early 90s, they took big beat out of the clubs and into the heart of pop culture. While their hits stormed the charts and their live shows sparked unprecedented euphoria, The Chemical Brothers built an entire world around their music: a psychedelic rabbit hole of dazzling visuals and a sound with the power to make a crowd levitate. Their catalogue has passed through generations of music fans: “Hey Boy Hey Girl”, “Block Rockin’ Beats”, “Galvanize”, “Wide Open”, “Got to Keep On”. Over nearly 35 years the duo has collected multiple Grammy and BRIT Awards, more than 21 million physical records sold worldwide, including 6 UK number one albums, and billions of streams. Their track “Go” features in the Netflix film “Apex” and, more than a decade after its release, returned as a new international hit, followed by the compilation “Go: Apex and Beyond” with their most popular songs. Their latest studio album, “For That Beautiful Feeling”, was met by critics with verdicts such as “Electronic titans, as future-focused as ever” and “After nearly 30 years, there’s still no one like them”.
At PHILLGOOD, The Chemical Brothers will bring their full show to the banks of the Rowing Canal, with their most iconic tracks and the visual world they are known for across the globe.
